Faraday Physlet v2.0 requires a Java 1.1 capable browser with JavaScript to Java scripting capability.  It is free for non-commercial educational use. Although it may be used in interactive mode, it is designed to communicates with the HTML page using a scripting language such as JavaScript. Please see the demo pages below.

This applet simulates a common physics "gedanken" experiment.  A wire rectangle with one movable side is placed in a magnetic field.  The student is asked to calculate the magnetic field under varying conitions of motion..

• <PARAM name="ShowColor" value="true"> will show the B field as color.
  
• <PARAM name="ShowGrid" value="true"> will show the B field direction as a "dot" or a "cross."
  
• <PARAM name="ShowCurrentArrow" value="true"> will show the dirction of the induced current as an arrow.
  
• Farday is now a DataSource. It can source the x position of the slider, the velocity of the slider, the voltage and the flux.  See the DataConnection page for more information.

Note:  ShowColor, ShowGrid, and ShowCurrentArrow  require that the entire image be redrawn at every time step.  You may wish to turn these options off on slow computers.
