JIT for Friday January 23

JIT exercises are designed to be short preparations for class.  They will often (but not always) ask questions about material that will be covered during the next lecture.  Homework problems, on the other hand, are designed to test your knowledge of material that has already been covered in depth.  Homework problems are often longer than JIT exercises.

Read chapter 3 and answer the following question by 8:00 AM.

Without air resistance, an object dropped from a plane flying at constant speed in a straight line will:

  1. quickly lag behind the plane.

  2. remain vertically under the plane.

  3. move ahead of the plane.

  4. insufficient information.
