Click Start to begin the exercise.  A fixed particle of unknown charge will be shown.  The electric field lines created by the particle will appear after a short period of calculation. You can measure the electric field's magnitude (in N/C) at any point by click-dragging and observing its magnitude in the yellow message box.

1. Determine the magnitude and sign of the charge on the particle. (Assume that all distances are measured in meters.) 
2. Describe the shape and distribution of the equipotential lines that exist in the region near the charge.
