Up: Running WAVE
Previous: Menu Items
At the bottom of the screen you will find a list of the hot keys and
their functions. Note: The functions of the hot keys change
when the simulation is running.
The following hot keys are available when the simulation is not
running:
- [F1 Help]
- [F2 Continue]
simulation
- [F3 Offset | No Offset]
--- toggle between showing the
wave components on separate/same axes, for the Schrödinger and classical
wave equations.
[F3 Function | D/Dt]
--- toggle between showing the
function or its derivative, for the diffusion, Klein-Gordon, sine-Gordon,
double sine-Gordon and phi-four wave equations.
- [F4 Step]
--- proceed one time step,
, forward in the
simulation.
- [F7 Reset]
restore the initial configuration of t=0.
- [F10 Menu]
--- escape to the menu at the top of the screen.
The following hot keys are available when the simulation is running:
- [F1 Help]
- [F2 Pause]
- [F3]
--- same as when the program is not running.
- [F4 Pos dT | Neg dT]
--- this key acts as a toggle between
positive and negative time steps, causing the simulation to run forward
or backward in time.
- [F5 Faster]
--- increases the speed of the simulation
without affecting numerical accuracy by increasing the number of time
steps between each redrawing of the screen.
- [F6 Slower]
--- decreases the speed of the simulation
without affecting numerical accuracy by adding (or lengthening) a Pascal
PAUSE[t]
command between time steps.
