It is good enough. Java is not too big and not too small. The AWT does a tolerable job of building a platform independent user interface. It has built in Internet connectivity. Much of what needs to be done for Physics Ed does not require a number cruncher and it is multithreaded. Less may be more as far as the student is concerned.
