In this investigation, the nature of crystalline materials will be
elucidated and their ideal forms will be compared to the forms of natural
and lab-grown crystals. The reader will get a cursory introduction to the
crystalline systems and understand more the innate order of their structures.
"Recipes" for growing crystals will be appended and sufficient
diagrams and photographs will be employed to aid in understanding. Along
the way, crystals that exhibit strange and wonderful physical properties
will be discovered. These physical properties will be discussed as well.
Conclusively, the shapes in nature match the shapes in theory match the
shapes in the lab. |
