| Potassium Sodium Tartrate Tetrahydrate ("Rochelle Salt"), KNaC4H4O6-4H2O, colorless, orthorhombic | I: 130 grams per 100 cc. water II: 9 grams per original 100 cc. water | |

| Calcium Copper Acetate Hexahydrate, CaCu(CH3COO)4-6H2O, blue, tetragonal | Add 22.5 grams of powdered calcium oxide to 200 cc. of water. Pour into mixture glacial acetic acid until clear. Dissolve separately 20 grams of copper acetate monohydrate into 150 cc. of water. Mix two solutions and let cool. | |

| Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate ("Epsom Salt"), MgSO4-7H2O, colorless | Add 1 pound to between 10 and 13.5 ounces water. May become supersatured and form crystals very quickly upon pouring. This one was a "just to try it" chemical. | |
Part I: This is the amount to add to a known amount of water to form a supersaturated solution. It is this part that is allowed to sit for a few days to become perfectly saturated. Part II: This is the amount to add to the saturated solution if you are using the supersaturation method of crystal growth. This is unneeded if the evaporative method is employed. |
