Solid

Init

At high densities, a hard-sphere molecular model can begin to take on the properties of a solid.  Notice how the small red particle is trapped in the spaces between the spheres.

Script Example

<script language="JavaScript">
function highDensity(){
    document.Molecular.setAutoRefresh(false);
    document.Molecular.setDefault();
    document.Molecular.setShowControls(false);
    document.Molecular.setPeriodicH(false);
    document.Molecular.setPeriodicV(false);
    document.Molecular.createParticles(37);
    for(i=0;i<6;i++)
        for(j=0;j<6;j++){
         document.Molecular.setParticleSize(j+6*i,2.9);
         document.Molecular.setParticlePos(j+6*i,-15+i*6,-15+j*6);
         document.Molecular.setParticleVel(j+6*i,2*Math.random(),2*Math.random());
       }
    document.Molecular.setParticleRGB(36,255,0,0);
    document.Molecular.setParticlePos(36,6,6);
    document.Molecular.setParticleVel(36,1,1);
    document.Molecular.setParticleSize(36,0.4);
