Class Exercise 
 

1. Clap your hands in the stair well of Dana.  Estimate the reverberation time.
2. Clap your hands in the seminar room, Dana B071, in the basement of Dana.  Estimate the reverberation time.
3. Stand in the hallway just outside of Dana B071 and clap your hands.  Describe what you hear.
4. Walk all the way to the other end of the basement hallway and clap your hands.  Is it the same as in #3?  Explain your answer.
5. Walk towards the center of the building to a point that is 2 meters past the elevator.  Clap your hands and listen carefully.  Describe what you hear.  Calculate the frequency you hear.  (Hint: You will need to measure something.)
6. There’s one other place in the basement hallway where this occurs.  Describe what conditions you will look for in order to hear this phenomena.  Where is it?
