Two Finite Square-Well Potentials
Section 1 Exercises:
- What are the widths and depths of these two wells? What is the width
of the barrier separating them?
- What are the energies of the first six eigenstates? Are any of them
degenerate to the accuracy of the measurement?
- What are the parities of the first six eigenstates? How is the
parity of a state related to the quantum number n?
- The overall wave function for the lowest lying state (n=1) is the sum of
the n=1 wave functions for the individual wells. What is the overall
wave function for the n=2 state? Is this related to the parity of the
level?
