Kirchoff’s Rules
Junction rule (aka point
rule)
At any junction point, the
sum of all currents entering the junction must equal the sum of all currents
leaving the junction.
The sum of the changes in
potential around any closed path (loop) of a circuit must be zero.
Procedure:
1.
Label current
directions (arbitrary)
2.
Choose loop
directions (arbitrary)
3.
Write junction
and loop rule equations
