Homework 5b.]
A) Using the applet (Homework 5a) above, determine the coefficient of
kinetic friction between the block and the horizontal surface it being
pulled across by the 40-N force which is 30o above the horizontal.
The mass of the block is 5 kg. (Assume t is in seconds and x and y are measured
in meters.) Show and explain your work.
B) In the applet (Homework 5b) above, only one of the two forces pushing
the block across a frictionless surface (viewed from above) is shown. The
force shown is 10 N and points 150o from the x-axis. What
is the direction and magnitude of the other force acting on the block?
What is the work done by the force that is shown (from t = 0 to t = 2seconds)?
