A blue ball collides with a red ball. Both the blue ball and the red
ball have a mass of 2 kg. Before the collision, the velocity of the red
ball is 1 m/s in the negative x direction. Using the applet below, determine
the speed and direction with which the red ball leaves the collision. Is
this an elastic collision? Show and explain your work. Since no data is
given for the red ball, your calculations will have to be based on data
taken from the blue ball. Assume there are no net external forces (the
blue and red ball together constitute a closed system).
