Simple Harmonic Motion Physlet-Based Curriculum

These examples of curricular material appear in Section 8.7. Follow a link on the left to go to the individual Physlet problems found in that section and several bonus problems only available on this CD. Below is a brief description of each animation.

Chapter Problems:

8.7.1: A  ball on an air track is attached to a compressed  spring  as shown in the animation.  8.7.2: An aluminum bar (Young's modulus of  70 x 109 N/m2) is stretched by a  force.  8.7.3: A 200 gr mass is vibrating at the end of a spring as shown.  Position is shown in cm and time in seconds.  
8.7.4: A pendulum is allowed to oscillate in an accelerating elevator as shown in the animation.
